Well we just had another fantastic weekend, weather wise! I only wish we could have weather like that more often! So Thursday was an off day. I did nothing but pack up all my stuff and played with Odin outside. We worked on our bikes and were not very successful. Thats ok because my dad got Odins bike all ready and I was able to get mine done today.

Friday I was READY to run all day long. Man I was pumped. I was only to do three miles but I did four. I really should not have. I am really suppose to follow the program to a tee. Really I have should not have done that! On that run I did my hill again. The whole run I just keep thinking this is going to be sooo much better then the last! I really was easier! Then that night Matt and I just enjoyed some college basketball and called it a night. I toyed with the idea of meeting up with a friend of mine who was out and about. I decided not too because I did not want to drink.

Then I had yet another day off from running so Matt and I went to buy his daughter her birthday present. It was a beautiful day so when we got back we went for a walk on the path by our apartment. I ended up running on that path today for my five miles. I think tomorrow I am going to go over each of my four runs and jot down how I felt. I had a harder time then I thought I would. I am looking forward to rest my knees tomorrow.

I feel incredibly tired so I am going to cut this short and head to bed! Good night everyone!

I have defeated my hill!

I did it I did it I did it. I ran all the way to the top of mile high very steep hill with out stopping for one second. This hill is a little over mile in to my run and I keep telling my self that "It is going to be so easy this time." or "Its not the bad, I can do it". I was avoiding thinking, Ugh that hill is going to be a killer! or any negative thoughts on the lines of me not being able to do it. Think about it... if you tell your self over and over that something is going to be tough or a killer... well your probably will go through that experience your thinking about feeling as if your going to die. Humm maybe we can all use a little glass is half full in our lives!

I did my four miles with no problem. I used my new knee brace for my left knee. I can't honestly give you an opinion on it yet. For now it is ok. I almost had a freaking break down before my fun started. I put on my clothes, socks and shoes and went down the steps and walked around for a few minutes and my left foot bunion was making it self VERY noticed. I took the shoe off and on like three times thinking "Well I guess I am going to have to cut a hole in my brand new shoes" Then I thought I hate these socks I have never worn them running before. So ran upstairs and replaced that sock with one that does not have a partner any more and what do you know. My foot felt fine. So that was a cool feeling.

I am very happy with the choices I have made in my life the past two months and I am looking forward to a life time of better days.

Speaking of life times..

I want to take two seconds to send my thoughts out to my sister in law, Amy Calvert and her family. May your Grandmother rest in peace.

Good night everyone!

Ain't no thing but a chicken wing.

I learned something new at work today, that is always nice and exciting. Ugh I am beat. I did not get to get up early and exercise. This only would be possible if I slept. I seem to just lay there till one or two then before I know it, it is time to get up. Please let me sleep tonight.... pretty please.

Well I ran my three miles in thirty minutes tonight. Seems long but let me tell you more then half is up hill and that is hard. I can only imagine that it will get better. It was freaking beautiful today and tomorrow is suppose to be better.

I am going to watch the rest of lost and remain lost. I missed the first half goofing around.
Good night!

Not sure what I did there!

Today was just another Monday... not even a manic Monday just a Monday. It was also an day off from running so I went to the gym with Monie (mom) walked on treadmill and did lower body weights. I don't know what is happening to me but I am starting to hate hate hate the days I don't run. I know I need non running days for my knee's sake but I just miss it. In fact I hate the days I run too early because then its over and I still want to run. Silly I guess. I am going to get my bike fixed soon so I have something else to do.

I did my five miles yesterday at the gym. It was maniac verse the machine. I set the treadmill on manual, entered weight, time, speed and incline. I had tried to put the time at 65 mins but the machine said the max was 60 mins. Well I got to like One and half min to go and one quarter mile yet to run. Lets just say I got to sprint. As I was sprinting I was singing "She's a Maniac Maniac" Ugh it was great. I did it! I do realize 60 minutes is a long time to run 5 miles but that ok. I am not running against anyone but myself.

This week goes as follows.. Tomorrow run three miles out side here by my moms. Wednesday four miles by my apartment after work Thursday off, Friday three miles and Sunday a big FIVE miles oh please oh please be dry on Sunday.... I don't want to run at the gym...

It is now approaching 11:00 my tea is done and I am beat. I hope to wake up early and do some exercise tv tomorrow morning... hoping is the key word. Really I just want to stretch!
Good night!

Let the wild rumpus begin

Rain Rain Rain all day today! Not much fun for the four kids but we managed! I bought Where the Wild Things Are. Of course I loved every minute of it, but the kids were in and out of it. That is my number one favorite book from when I was a kid. I bought Odin his first copy on his first Birthday. I hope he appreciates that book someday.

I keep having dreams that I have a cigarette and it really has been bugging me. Not that I wake up needing a cigarette or anything. Just that I let everyone down and let myself down. Like we all sort of just saw the... Oh well she was never gonna make it anyway feeling. That is why I have to keep running. Instead of running for the cure , its more like my own race of running from the cravings.

I had a day off of running. I did the elliptical and that felt awesome! When I got off the elliptical I just danced in my basement like an idiot for a few songs. I am talking like 1990s Vanilla ice, roger rabbit dancing. I am not going to lie. I don't care how stupid I looked I had a blast all by myself dancing like an idiot.

Tomorrow I must fit 5 miles of running in somewhere. It is really wet, windy and cold out so if that is still the case I will be running at the gym. I want to get a few more things to get in better shape for running. So far I have invested in a new pair of actual running shoes, a pack of socks, a few sports bras, one knee brace and some clothes. I do need more clothes but I will wait to get some clothes for summer running. I need or I guess want to get a jump rope, a second knee brace and if I can't find my dumb bells , well then I will need to buy some.

I am in the middle of watching "Run Fat Boy Run".. actually good movie... about an out of shape guy who just wants to run a marathon. LOL Good night everyone!

Friday, March 12, 2010

AHHHHH it is the weekend!!! I was itching for the weekend for days now! It is my weekend with Odin and I can't wait just to be with him all weekend. He got in the car after his movie night at school and made me laugh, he starts singing "Peanut Butter, Momma Time, Peanut Butter, Momma Time" Where he comes up with this stuff I have no clue! It is so cute, I would NEVER in a zillion years change his silly one of kind personality!

I ran at the gym tonight due to the fact that it is pouring out! I got an easy four miles in but I was running way slower then I thought. The gym down at my moms has different treadmills then up by my apartment. I did not realize this till I was like 35 mins into it. Oh well. All I really need to do this weekend is relax and enjoy Odin's company! I plan on taking it easy and only doing small exercise like sit ups push ups squats and stuff like that! Oh and laundry but that is no fun!

Well I am trying to watch "Hurt Locker" right now. I honestly don't know if I can handle this whole movie.

Run Run Run Runaway

You know today was a fantastic day. I am totally psyched I am helping a friend at work quit smoking! She started Chantix four days ago and is excited to be able to breath again. It is way cool to be on this side of the fence! I remember listening to people talking about quiting and I would be jealous that I would just say something so stupid like, "I am not a quiter, or I quit every night when I go to bed". Some BS that I would say just to avoid that fact that I was scared shitless to quit. THANK YOU Chantix!!!! Thank you family and friends, you all made quiting not so scary after all!

I have been able to walk at work three times this week, which is totally awesome! I have been able to get two miles at lunch with no problem! I prefer to walk at the park down the street vs the path at work, because well I just need to get away! I love everyone I work with, but too much time with them and I would go nuts! The weather has just been great. We are getting rain tomorrow and through the weekend (boo). Which means I have to hit the gym rather than run outside. YES you heard correctly, I have been running outside and guess what... I freaking love it! I did 2.8 miles today, does not sound like much, but keep in mind more than half of this was ran up hill and I am talking about a STEEP hill. I need this though, because the race I am running is part up hill! Yes again you heard right, I picked a first race and good news, I think, Odin is going to run the 1/2 mile kids run right before I run. This is with the help of my sister. So I will let you know more about this race when I know more. (Very excited)

Well I am in the middle of watching "Up in Air". Not sure if I like it or not. Then I am off to that wonderful thing called sleep!

Good night Quiters we rock!

Matt is back!

I totally gave you lifting weights yesterday and ran outside by the river! UGH it was gorgeous and challenging at the same time. The sun was setting, the rivers was rushing and my heart was pounding. This was the first time I ran with out my i pod in I think like two years. I don't know I felt about that. In one way I like it because I did not have to mess with it and all the cords and in one way I did not like it because I really could use the extra motivation that a good song always brings. I could use the alone time with my self, sometimes I give myself good advise.

Tomorrow I am going to run at the gym and weather depending I will be running outside Friday night. Odin will be at the drop off movie night at his school so I will have bonus time to run Friday.

I am pretty excited, I ordered a heart rate monitor tonight. I hope it comes soon! Any who, I am hoping to get a good night sleep so I have am off! Oh Odin and I did celebrate tonight. It was the first thing he said when I picked him up! "Mom! We MUST Celebrate" who could smoke after that! I love my little man!

Goodnight

So tired!

So I went to the gym tonight. I ran a little over 40 minutes at a nice pace and a slight incline again. Felt great, broke a nice sweat. I ran in my new shoes. They felt a little funny at first almost like my feet were tired. I also started the run with quite the headache, yet the pains and tiredness faded about 15 mins into running. Its funny I had my ipod on shuffel and Jailhouse rock came and who would of though, I was floating during that song. I am laughing because I was thinking of Marlene and nice lady I work with who loves Elvis. Then that got me thinking I have like 40 years of working before I can retire. Just a weird conversation my department had today.

I am excited for ANOTHER awesome day tomorrow. One last dry warm day before we get about a week of rain. So I am going to walk at lunch tomorrow at the park Matt and I go to when it is nice and check it out. I think I can get at least two and half miles in during the hour. That should be nice. Of course I will be with out Matt but some times it is nice to just listen to your self just breath.

I also will hit the gym for about 45 mins doing weight training. That gets so freaking boring! I have all of that and this week am going to think of some cool things to do with the kids this weekend while it is raining. Any ideas are appreciated! Ugh I am so tired I must sleep!
Goodnight

I am back!

Ok ok I don't want to go into too many details about why I have not wrote for an entire month. But I will say, lack of will power during two blizzards did not help AT ALL!

I will say that I am back! Feeling really good! We just had a way nice weekend. The temps were as high as 50! Friday i went to the gym with Matt and ran for 40 mins on a treadmill with my new knee brace ... felt better. I put the treadmill up to a slight incline and slowed it down. I was way more comfortable! I guess all the experts are right. That was a way great way to start the weekend!

Saturday Matt and I went on a walk on the trail right by our apartment and went as far as we could. This trail ended after a short two miles and meet up with a tow path that went for 2.5 miles till that meets up with the trail in Palmer township that is a 9 mile loop. So I was thinking that would be a great place to run once the snow clears. I am not big on running on patches of snow. My week ankles would break slipping on the snow! It really was a nice walk and a really nice day. Awe I love the sunshine very very very much!

Today Matt and I went to Round Valley Reservoir and hiked a little over 1/3 of the Cushetunk Trail. We went close to 4 miles in and then 4 miles back. It was harder than it sounds. About half of the trail was covered in snow, and water. The other half was covered in mud. Yet I loved it. Felt super good to get out and see and smell some nature. I can't wait for more sunshine filled weekends!

I have now been 101 days cig free and feeling strong. Odin and I are going out for ice cream on Wednesday to celebrate. His idea, I hate ice cream lol! This week Matt goes to West Palm Beach Florida (lucky dog) Tuesday and Wednesday (good for him cause he gets to see his dad). I on the other hand will not! I will be running at the gym on Monday night and running the same as I did on Friday. Tuesday I will be weight training and Wednesday after ice cream I will be running down in Pottstown, maybe with my mom?

Well it feels damn good to be back. PS Gloria I have been taking a vegetarian B Complex and it does make a difference! Should have listened to you a year ago. Guess I will be reading tonight because I don't want to watch or care about the oscars. Wait its Steve Martin and I enjoy his comedy. Humm decisions decisions..

Good tunes!

So short post tonight.. I did my training today with no problems. Tomorrow I will step it up a notch, kind of excited. I had a bit of drama this weekend with Odin and an infected lip! Sitting down to a nice cup of sleepy time tea. I am going to spend a few mins trying to find really good music for running tomorrow, Good night fellow quitters! We rock

You little stinker!

So its the weekEND!!! Looking forward to hitting up the gym tomorrow morning, my comfort zone! Long story short, I got shown up by a 6th grader!!! It is 19 degrees out and Thomas and I decide to go OUTSIDE for a run. We go to Freedom High School with the rest of our family and Thomas made it a mile. I would have, BUT I have many excuses. I could not feel my fingers and I decided to mess with my Ipod and got more then a little freaked out that my digits were numb. So after one lap I went to the car, took off my Ipod put on gloves and decided to start over.

Lap two of one, lol, I get to the end and Natalie, who I could tell is not having the time of her life, slips on ice while Matt is tending to Alex. So I have to stop and make sure she is not hurt. She says she is o.k. So I am on my third lap of the day and all I could think about.. "Did Nats pants get wet when she fell??? I don't want anyone getting sick or stand there in wet pants while I run in 19 degree weather. So I stopped. Oh well! I did not get in a successful run in since Wednesday night. Thomas and I should have just went to the gym and ran on the treadmill from the start.

I had my whole week planned out with running on Thursday and Saturday (today) but here is what happened. My awesome friend Gloria gave me four tickets to the Flyers game on Thursday. I was so grateful and so excited to go! I went with Matthew, John and Paula. We had a really nice time. It was super cold, and they lost, but we still had a great time! Thank you Gloria! Well, when she offered I decided, if my mom could pick Odin up from school on Friday, I could just hit up the gym then and Saturday. Thank goodness I did because I totally forgot that Friday was month end and now I had arrangements for Odin. Month end at my job means working late and not having a choice in the matter. So I ended up working until a little after 8:30. Well my gym on Friday closes at 9. Today was still a good reminder today that running outside is a whole different ball game!

So I was very proud of Thomas running a mile in way freaking below freezing temps! and kind of excited to have a kid in my life excited to run and hang out with me! Odin is a little young to run, and by the time he is old enough to run with me, will he want to?? Who knows??? Anywho.... tomorrow should be exciting. Odin mentioned he wanted to go to this certain playground that happens to be RIGHT across the street from my spot in Bethlehem that I want to clean up. I told him that once him and Nat get a trash bag full of garbage we can head over there.... I am such a mean mom. He actually said "sure then you can pay us mom." and I said "Oh no Odin, I will not pay you, the earth will" then he says.... "Mom the earth does not have any money" LOL. So I explained this all to him, and he was no too impressed.

So goals tomorrow are: head to the gym EARLY!!! Run my program! Pack my bags and NOT forget anything! Take the kids or go by myself to do some trash picking and head to my moms with Odin around 5. I will also need to go to the grocery store to get some lunch food for Odin which means I also need to get some healthy food for me! I sometimes wish that pizza, bread sticks, pretzels and honey mustard were like "healthy" food. Don't get me wrong, I do like almost all vegetables, fruits and nuts, but nothing fills me up like good old bread! Ugh, if I give up crappy old bread for thirty days maybe I will lose the habit?!?! I don't know. It took one second to give up meat.. maybe I can give up bread too! Seriously I would be like the healthiest person alive. Hum, I am not ready to make that commitment yet. I love bread! and wine! Even Jesus likes bread and wine!

With that note, both the seven year olds are out and snoring! So I am going to take advantage of that and watch some Superbad, get in the shower and head to bed with out hearing MOM!!! Yes I am going to bed! No cigs today and not missing them for one second.

Good night quitters,
Trish!

What's happening!

I can't help but wonder if my knee is strong enough for this whole project. I fell on it like two weeks ago and I think that it may just be bruised but it does hurt. I am going to just visualize the pain leaving my body. Funny thing is, it only hurts when I am not running. Makes no sense to me. I am posistive it will just go away!

I completed my 15 mins jogging, 5 min fast paced walk, 15 mins job and 5 walk to finish. I think Matt may have been right about me starting too far back. Good news is, Monday I bump up to the next level. It was nice running next to my mom. She is doing a real good job going to the gym! I am so proud of her! I even got to see my brother Mike tonight too. Him and my sister in law are in there second week of some Special K diet. I will let you all know how that works and if it is effective after I talk to him.

Incoming bad news alert: Philadelphia Marathon 2010 is not till Novemeber 21. I am going to be looking for one soon then that! And more bad news JUST coming can't do a Sunday marathon during Matt's soccer season. UGH it is getting harder and harder to find a marathon. No big deal. I defenitly want to do the ING Rock and Roll half a marathon in Philly, it is during soccer season but I am sure someone in my family could go. Truth be told, that sounds like the perfect half marathon, its in historic Philadelphia, so wicked cool sites and they have a band set up for every mile, and if you know me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE music, how cool is that. I am going to register tomorrow for that. So I am so freaking excited for that. So not much else new right now, but no more Starz movie channels, cancelled today.

No cigs today, no problem because I don't smoke. Good night!

My sis rocks!

Oh yes that is right, I have my very first follower..... my awesome little sister! Its funny because my sister has been such an inspiration in my life that most of the time... I felt like I was following her! Love you Tracie! What a day I have had! Did not manage to get up to work out but I did get up and stretch my poor aching muscles. It was much needed. I was happy with that!

Work was work... heard a funny little saying, Getting to work does not bother me at all, its the 8 hour wait to get home that is a bitch! LOL I got a kick out of that. Was training at work today. Not much to say about that, but hey I made it almost all day without complaining! One little slip at like 4. Oh so close, I am going to work on that goal for a full time change of life! Not complaining is hard work, oh wait that is complaining. Ok starting now!

I went to the gym with Matt again tonight, he ran I did not. He will not be going tomorrow and I will be going with my mom in Pottstown at 8. Today I did weights and the bike for about 25 minutes and read through the introduction of my new book. One of the authors is a student who was in one of the courses with the other two authors (more on that later) but I found her to be quite the inspiration. She was a 215lb, out of shape, 37 year old full time working single mom, in her last semester of college. She was selected to be in this course. The day she was supposed to start her preliminary training (the step I am currently in) she injured her back. Her mother and two teenage sons were not supportive of her training, well she was lying down with ice om her back and you know what she did? She said screeeeew them! She got up and hobbled outside and walked around the block one time. 18 weeks later she finished 26.2 miles. In 18 weeks she went from one block to 26.2 miles. Can you believe that? Not only can I do this, guess what, I am doing this and I have never felt better about doing something in my entire life!

I have to switch my frame of mind. I need to STOP looking at how far I run but how long I can run. This preliminary stage I am in, is to get me ready to begin training. They have a whole chart and you are to start where you are currently at. So, even though I can run 25 mins straight ...I am starting tomorrow and will repeat Thursday and Saturday the following: 15 min jog, 5 min fast walk and repeat once. So then , I will move up on Monday to the next step: 20 min jog, 5 min walk and repeat. After four times in one week I will go up to: 25 min jog and 5 min walk no repeat. Again, this is four times in one week and then next step: jog for 30 mins straight four times a week for two weeks. Then.... can't wait!! Week one of training. So super excited! I could have maybe started further yet, but I don't want to end up hurting myself.

I am going to take this time to remind myself and anyone reading what my goal is. To finish a marathon. That is it. Period. That is my marathon goal. There is NO WAY I could start smoking if I want to finish a marathon. That is just a benefit not a goal. My goal on Thanksgiving day was to quit smoking, and I have achieved that goal. If I can do that, I can do anything! Just think, in 20 weeks I will be ready to run a marathon! One problem is the Philadelphia Marathon is not until October. I think I need one closer to the end of my training! Guess it is going to take some planing, not my forte!

I must be off to bed soon. One big goal tomorrow, well that would be : to go to the gym and jog for 15 mins ,walk for 5, jog for 15 mins, and walk for 5. I can do it. I just wish I could do it outside! Anyone who has suggestions for good Samaritan goals for me to accomplish, keep in mind I don't have much money and have the weirdest schedule, but am willing to consider any charitable work.

Fellow quitters, we freaking rock! Night everyone!

I am jealous, so what!!

So I should be happy that I achieved as much as I have today but I am all worked up! Let's start at the beginning, I managed to wake up early today and it was like hurricane bitchina outside. So since I got up and out of bed all dressed and ready to run without realizing the weather this morning was so crappy, I decided to hit up the elliptical down in my basement. So I got a good work out and had a good start to my day, just not outside. I will try again tomorrow. It may be super cold but I am going to try. I laugh because there was a day when I would have been outside in this weather smoking. Ahh the little things make quiting soooo nice!

Managed to also eat and purchase a book at lunch today, Thank you Barnes and Noble. Turns out not only do running books exist, but there are like a million to choose from. Books on beginning, weight loss, meditation and running, yoga and running, running for kids etc etc. I ended up choosing The Non-Runner's Marathon Trainer. I have yet to get through the introduction but I think I am happy with this book. I will tell you more about the training details, I guess when I know them. All I do know is that the first day of running calls for three miles... I looked at the chart, and I am not quite there yet.

Then what got me fired up, the gym. I head there with no real goal in mind and not much motivation to work out. I was not sure if I was going to do the bike and read, some weight training or run. I literally decided after jumping on the treadmill. I guess since I saw two side by side open I just got excited because I went with Matthew. So I start running right away, again with no real goal in mind. Fellow quitters, get this I am running at a decent speed and see I ran for 2.5 straight miles and decided that I ROCK and hit the cool down button. Well the worst thing happened next. I show Matt how far I ran and he says "I am going to do THREE miles and I am going to sprint soon!" Well that he did and that really just pissed me off! There is no way I can let Matthew run more then me, NO WAY JOSE! Well I try and increase my speed but I was all ready on cool down mood and it would bring my speed down to like a slow walk..... UGHHHHH! Oh I was so angry with him! He just keep saying oh but I am a runner Trish....a. I just wanted to smack his mouth, but instead I just told him that "YOU CAN'T run in my 5k. Get your own" and I meant it. I started this project and I will admit I want it to be all about me me me! Well not really but he just can't run my first 5k and beat me, are you kidding me! I need him at the end waiting for me, cheering me on. So he does not get it why I am mad, but I am so that is all that matters.

So goals for tomorrow, get up work out in the morning, cross train tomorrow after work, and do something good and not running related. Let's see, I am running a million things in my mind... well I do need to reschedule giving blood. I will do that and I will geez I don't know. Wait I know. I am going to stop complaining at work and just focus on the good. I know it sounds lame, but I could benefit from this and I also think my department could too. I have been down in the dumps and I think that I may have been bringing other people down with me.

No cigs today and going strong. Enjoying some fancy beer Matt and I picked up after the gym and hopefully off to a good night sleep. Fellow quitters, stay strong and oh I forgot. Hello I am Trish!

Heating Pad needed!

So my first mini goal.... turns out to be a MAJOR goal! Had Matthew (boyfriend) drop me off so I can pick up trash and only brought two trash bags and they filled up within an hour. Quickly into this hour it starts to rain! I was planning on doing this yesterday when it was nice out but life got in the way, more on that in a minute. There is so much garbage at this place that I think it will take me an entire year to clean up. Now that I have started I can't stop. I will be going there once a week till EVERY piece of garbage is in its place. This is something I am going to have Odin join in with too. He will hate it I am sure... but hating things as a child builds character. I am going to see about getting something that would help me pick things out of trees and off the ground with out having to bend over because my back is killing me. After a few weeks of committing to this I am going to call the township and see if they will give me trash bags to help me clean this area up. I have pictures posted on facebook of my adventure today.

Shortly after getting back from trash picking, Matthew and I went to the gym. I went there with a goal running 2.2 miles and did it. That was just under 21 mins. I really tried to focus on my style of running and am not quite sure what or how to fix what I do wrong. I am hoping to go to the book store tomorrow during my lunch hour and browse/purchase a book on running. I don't even know if that exists! I know I also need to invest in better shoes and clothes but for right now I am ok with what I already own, an old pair of walking shoes and crappy tee shirts and sweat paints. I did ok today, did not have the best breakfast... coffee and french fries but I did ok.

Yesterday I did not make it to the gym nor trash picking. Odin had a birthday party from 11 to 12:30 and even though it is his father's weekend with him, I had to take him. I live an hour away so that means I had to leave at 9:45 to get him there by 11 and we were still ten minutes late. It was fun to see Odin interact with other kids in his class and how he is with girls! Made me laugh! His dad was running late and did not show up to pick him up till 4, which put me back to Bethlehem at 5:00 and it was dark. I can handle the rain and the cold but I am not comfortable going to pick up trash in the dark. Kind of ghetto and dangerous. So at that point during my drive home I was ok with just heading to the gym. Then I get home to find Matthew dressed and hair all done and ready to go eat a nice dinner at Carrabas. At that point I was like F the gym! We went and had a nice dinner just the two of us! Not the greatest restaurant for vegetarians but was very nice. I did get some exercise with Odin. Leg presses and running up and down the road playing football. That did make me realize, running outside is WAY harder then running on the treadmill. SOOOoooo.... my goal for tomorrow, don't laugh is to wake up and run a little outside! Ok I laughed! I hate waking up period! BUT I AM GOING TO DO IT and I am going to gym with Matthew after work too. Maybe I will do some weight training at gym maybe run I don't know yet. One other goal for tomorrow is to find out more information on my 5k in March that I want to run!

Obviously no smokes today and feeling good! I have to focus a bit on work tomorrow as I did not go to work on Friday.... yet I did learn (at a bar) that you need to qualify for the Boston marathon by running two other marathons, so forget that! I only want to finish a marathon, not win a Marathon. Anyway I am heading off for a walk between football games (GOSH I hate the Colts). Oh for anyone reading this who does not know who I am, Hello I am Trish!

First blog EVER

So I am actually doing this.... I am so out of touch with "cool" I am not even sure if people still blog... but that does not matter, cause I am. The reason, I quit smoking (thanks chantix) according to the online quit calculator,56 days 14 hours 49 minutes and 37 seconds ago. I have no urges to start but the I QUIT high is over.

I am hoping to start my now what part of life! I want to set mini, major and many goals for myself that I have always wished I could do but was afraid to attempt because I had a pack a day habit! My main goal is to RUN a marathon, and I want to run a big one like the Boston marathon or the Chicago marathon (they may be the only two that I know). So I am going to start to train BUT I am starting small!! and I mean like 5k small. Now this silly for many reasons, I know NOTHING about running, I can't write grammatically to save my life,I drink too much, I am lazy, absentminded and can't run more then five mins without having to go to the bathroom, who am I kidding I can not even sneeze without a tiny accident!

And running even a 5k let alone a full on marathon takes planning..... and if you know me, yeah I don't plan.... lets put it this way when I gave birth to my son... I had not a clue what happens ( yes I knew the basics) during labor and delivery and that was the sole most important thing I have ever done in my life! But I am going to do this and I am going to write on this silly thing if for no one but myself and some day at some time I am going to run a marathon for the simple fact because I can.

I do have some secret motives behind this.... Since I quit smoking I have put on my fair share of pounds. So I am hoping to lose some of that but if not at least I don't smoke. And I will make goals for myself simply because I am tired of thinking I want to be a better person.... I am going to be a better person.

First mini goal... this weekend I am going to go out and PICK UP TRASH just because I can. I am sure people will think I am doing community service and a DUI offender but I do not mind. Do you know how many cigs I have thrown out my window while I was driving? All I know is I have quit less then 60 days ago and according to this calculator that is 1,132(holy $hit) cigs not smoked and I smoked for like 15 years. So this weekend and going to a certain spot in Bethlehem that is a pig pen of trash and I am going to pick up trash! I hope I don't get hit by a car! I will try and get some photos... if this website allows that??

As for the running, I did go to the gym today and ran 2.10 miles and almost died!!!! I guess I need to buy a running book or something.. not sure but something... wish me luck... and for fellow quitters out the congratulations to you! and if any one is reading this who does not know me... Hello my name is Trish!
